Do I need to install any additional software on my cell phone?
In order to use the Keyfox, you do not need to install any software on your cell phone. The Keyfox uses the standard Bluetooth protocol.
Does the Keyfox work with any phone?
The Keyfox uses the Handsfree Protocol to connect to your cell phone. All phones that have Bluetooth support this protocol. However not all phones have reliable Bluetooth implementations. Please visit the Specifications page to see which phones are currently recommended.
What is the coverage area?
The Keyfox will work anywhere in North America wherever there is cellular coverage.
How do you prevent false alarms?
The Keyfox prevents most accidental activations as you have to press and hold the panic button for half a second in order to activate the device. The device gives a vibration feedback once it is activated. If you have activated the device by accident, simply enter your pin code on your cell phone to cancel the call. The monitoring station also uses audio verification to filter out false activations.
Are there any false alarm fees?
False alarm fees will likely be charged by police services when an officer is dispatched to a call where is no criminal activity. False alarm fees and their associated regulations vary with different municipalities. We recommend that you contact your local police service to find out the false alarm fees.
